We had a fantastic experience this evening with Linh, who was a wonderful guide, extremely sweet, and took us to eat the best food of our lives. Thank you so much to her! The tour was good value, however, I would not book through South East Asia Backpackers again. I recommend you get in touch with Friends Travel Hanoi directly instead. Having completed the online booked and paid a deposit through SE Asia Backpacker, I was not given any information about the tour (e.g. when or where it would start!), just the contact details for Friends Travel so I could reach out to them and book it myself. It turned out that there wasn’t even a tour running at the time I thought I had booked, and they knew nothing about the deposit that I had paid! By booking through this site you’re basically paying for a WhatsApp number for you to arrange your own tour 😭 Better just to contact the tour operator directly. But I recommend you do, as the tour itself was fantastic ☺️

This food tour was amazing!! We got to try so many foods that we would never have known to order for ourselves and we loved all of them! Our guide Cherry was so great and we had an amazing time, would definitely recommend!

The tour was great, we had to try a lot of different dishes in the street road of Hanoï.
Everything we tried was very yummy. Our guide was brillant and gave us a lot of information about Vietnamese cuisine.
And thank you very much to Nikki for everything.

Our guide was amazing and so lovely. We were shown good we otherwise would have had no idea about and all the best spots to get it from. Highly recommend this tour if you are unsure about which food you will like/want to try new things.

We took the street food tour on the first night we arrived in Hanoi. It was a great way to be shown the local dishes and what to choose on the streets. Highly recommend

Barring food allergies there is little substitution on this tour. One of us didn’t eat fried foods and had to just sit out a few dishes. We were hoping to learn more about Vietnamese food and culture than we did. Our guide, while very nice, wasn’t good a disseminating this sort of information. With that said, we got to try many different dishes and went to many stalls we never would have found on our own or would have been brave enough to try without local help.

We really loved the tour. At the end we had a private tour and our guide was just great! She explained also a lot around the food and the Vietnamese culture and history. The places you go to are kind of picked through your likes and dislikes of food (food allergy…). We enjoyed really every food and went home really full. So if you start your trip in Hanoi this tour is a must do to get a feeling what kind of food they have and to which places you can go. Thanks a lot again.

We absolutely loved the food tour! Beyond tasting dishes that I had never heard of that were savory and refreshing at the same time, we were able to learn about Vietnamese culture through asking our guide questions. The tour was not rushed; rather, we were able to take our time and ended up going an hour over.

This tour was a great way to start our time in Vietnam. We weren’t too sure what a lot of the street food items were beforehand so it meant we could go out and order with confidence! Also, the banh mi we had on this tour was the best we had in all of Vietnam! Without the local guide, we never would have found the little place that served it. It’s definitley a good investment!
